达文西密码 Twisted Evil 故然是一本荒谬,不合历史事实的小说。不过它也带出了一个有趣的神学问题;耶稣,从一个完全人的角度,可以结婚生子吗? Question

why Rev Tong want to talk about da vinci code? the more the people talk about it, the more the people read the book or see the movie and the more money will Dan Brown get......

This will encourage other people to do so and I am sure "the gospel of judas" will be the next...

Let us view this as an opportunity God has granted to us

1. Reach out to non believers and explain to them

2. for christians to know their faith and study history hard

I do not think God create cults or heresies in order to provide us the opportunity to "reach out the non believers"

By doing so, christians will not study church history hard but study da vinci code hard

God turn evil for the good of his people

Job 2:10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?"

Gen 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Act 2:23 this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.

strive hard, pray hard and work hard, all for His glory

Rom 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Read the church history well

and you will know the gospel of Judas is not a new thing

read the church history well
and you will know the Da Vinci Code is only a small case

His people shall never be defeated for Christ has already won for us.

I don not think those verses are related to cult or heresies. God does not need to create opportunity(evil) and then turn evil for the good of his people.

Since gospel of judas is not a new thing and da vinci code is only a small case, then why bother? Why not have a seminar on church history?

If STEMI announces: On 18 June, we will have a seminar to discuss the gospel, 100 people show up.
If STEMI announces: On 18 June, we will have a seminar to discuss church history, 150 people show up.
If STEMI announces: On 18 June, we will have a seminar to discuss The Da Vinci Code, 1000 people show up.

So why not...

Indeed! so many people showed up that many are left outside and forced to leave! that includes me.

This is the first time I see Rev Tong's talk is so overwhelmed.
